Set unobtrusively atop the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, the 75 guestrooms
are ornately decorated with local materials. Each room has an en
suite modern bathroom, and most have private verandahs with views
of the crater floor.
Built in 1996, Ngorongoro Serena Lodge exists
in perfect harmony with the natural environment and the wildlife
that inhabits it. The lodge is built into a dormant volcano, its
plant and ivy-covered native stone blending with its surroundings.
Sip a sundowner on the terrace after a day on the crater floor,
or go inside and warm up near the fireplaces in the dining room
