Day 1-2
Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha |
Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport,
arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris
staff and transferred to your lodge. We

Day 3
Private Nature Refuge |
After breakfast and a full safari briefing, fly to a private
nature refuge located in the Serengeti eco-system, east of
Serengeti National Park. Welcome to Maasai country! Please
note: A $100 per person conservation fee is applicable on
all itineraries visiting the private nature refuge.
- Explore the area on foot looking for animal tracks

Day 4
Private Nature Refuge |
Head out on another adventure today, exploring the hillsides
and open plains of this private refuge. Enjoy a picnic lunch
in the bush followed by a meeting with the people of Tanzania
that you and your family are sure to remember!

Day 5
Serengeti National Park |
Before departing, visit a Maasai women's collaborative to
meet these creative and talented entrepreneurs. Drive to Serengeti
National Park, home to literally hundreds of thousands of
hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary
that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was
in the beginning.”

Day 6
Serengeti National Park |
Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has even
more to offer you today. With your skilled guides at the helm,
the wildlife viewing promises to be interesting on this last
day in the Serengeti ecosystem. Once you are back at camp,
there is plenty of room for soccer or Frisbee, or a number
of creative activities.

advance reservations, make an early departure for your hot-air
balloon excursion today)
- Optional walk to the nearby village

Day 7
Ngorongoro Crater |
After breakfast, continue your journey by heading east, toward
the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Many Maasai call the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area home - keep an eye out for the red cloth
of the herdsmen dotting the landscape as you make your way
through this area.
- Morning wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park
- Brief stop at Olduvai Gorge
- Picnic lunch in the park

Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater |
The Ngorogoro crater is a geological marvel where almost 30,000
animals live year-round. This is a paradise for animal lovers
who can expect to see lions, zebras, hippos, hyenas, flamingoes,
baboons and much more.
- Full day of wildlife viewing on the floor of Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro Highlands |
Stretch your legs and enjoy the lush landscape of the Ngorongoro
Highlands.

Ngorongoro Highlands |
At long last, you will meet your Tanzanian pen pals! Your
family can interact with Tanzanians at schools and the homes
of Thomson Safaris’ longtime friends for games and activities.

Day 11
Tarangire National Park |
Depart after breakfast for Tarangire National Park, wildlife
viewing en route to your Nyumba. Few people know that Tarangire
has its own mini-migration when more than 3,000 elephants,
30,000 zebra, and 30,000 wildebeest come into the park.

Tarangire National Park |
Enjoy a full day exploring Tarangire National Park and its
riverbanks looking for lion, leopard, giraffe, gerenuk, reedbuck,
and even the rare fringe-eared oryx.

Arusha / Depart |

Spend the rest of the day in Arusha, with a farewell lunch,
some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home
