Day 1-2
Depart North America / Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge. We can arrange your international flights, please call for competitive pricing and availability.

Day 3
Tarangire National Park


Today you will depart Arusha, traveling southwest through the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's fourth largest. Your lodge is perched in the trees, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that allows you a bird’s eye perspective on the surrounding landscapes.

Day 4
Tarangire National Park


Spend another day in Tarangire National Park, viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park.

Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater


Enjoy the scenery of rolling hills and vibrant colors as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Gibb's Farm in the afternoon, where you are sure to enjoy the serenity of this lush and extraordinary oasis. Later, you will immerse yourself in the semi-nomadic culture of the Maasai by visiting a boma, which is a settlement of circular homes.

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater


Spend the day wildlife viewing day in Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones, including lakes, forest, and savannah. It is also home to about 30,000 animals despite its tiny size of only ten miles across.

Day 7
Serengeti National Park


Depart the cool, grassy Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the great Serengeti plains, the country's second largest and most famous park.

Day 8
Serengeti National Park


Relish in the vastness of the Serengeti, "the land that flows on forever," along with some of the best wildlife viewing that Africa has to offer. Beyond the heralded migration of wildebeest and zebra, the Serengeti is best known for its big predators, including cheetah, leopard, large prides of lion and clans of hyena.

Day 9
Serengeti National Park


Enjoy another day of wildlife viewing. Home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.” Return to your lodge this afternoon to take advantage of its many amenities including the infinity pool or the spa (additional fees) for the ultimate relaxation after an exciting day of a wildlife viewing.

Day 10
Zanzibar


Depart the Serengeti this morning and fly to the glorious Indian Ocean archipelago of Zanzibar. For over a millennium, Zanzibar has been known as a powerful trading hub with rich cross-cultural history whose influences, whether African, Persian, Portuguese, Arab, Indian or Asian, have continued today. This afternoon, enjoy the private beach, the pool or take a dip in your own plunge pool.

Day 11
Zanzibar


Spend the day taking in the local Swahili culture an enjoying the beach - whether swimming, snorkeling, diving, or simply relaxing. The reefs and coral offer exquisite views, including an immense diversity of vibrant aquatic life.

Day 12
Zanzibar


Take advantage of this prime location to enjoy a swim in the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, stroll the silky beach or opt for one of the many excursions that can be arranged with the resort.

Day 13
Zanzibar / Depart


Explore Stone Town's narrow passageways and browse its seemingly limitless boutiques and shops or opt a tours of sites like the Anglican Cathedral for a moving guided tour of East African slavery. Depart for Dar es Salaam on a short flight this afternoon to rest before your international flight.

Arrive North America
