Day 1-2
Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge.

  • Overnight: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge
 
 

Day 3
Serengeti National Park


Today you start your journey by flying into the heart of Tanzania, Serengeti National Park. "The land that flows on forever" is host to some of the best game-viewing Africa has to offer.

  • Morning charter flight to the Serengeti
  • Afternoon wildlife viewing
  • Overnight: Thomson Serengeti Nyumba
 
 

Day 4
Serengeti National Park


Enjoy another day of wildlife viewing in the Serengeti. Home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.”

  • Full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park
    (if you have advance reservations, make an early departure for your hot-air balloon excursion today or tomorrow)
  • Overnight: Thomson Serengeti Nyumba
 
 

Day 5
Olduvai Gorge/ Ngorongoro Crater


Today, make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater with a stop at Olduvai Gorge. Enjoy an afternoon on the crater floor where you will witness the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet.

  • Brief stop at Olduvai Gorge
  • Afternoon wildlife viewing on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater
  • Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
 
 

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater


Spend another day on the crater floor, searching out lion, hippo, the rare black rhino, hyena, wildebeest, zebra, African buffalo and much more.

  • Full day wildlife viewing on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater
  • Picnic lunch
  • Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
 
 

Day 7
Ngorongoro Highlands


Arrive at a Gibbs Farm, working coffee plantation and organic farm, this afternoon. You have the chance to take an afternoon walk or relax in the lush gardens. You may wish to enjoy afternoon tea on the veranda against a backdrop of bougainvillea and an orchestra of birds.

  • Guided walk focusing on indigenous medicinal plants
  • One hour of spa services included on Day 7 or Day 8
  • Afternoon tea on the verandah
  • Overnight: Gibbs Farm Cottage
 
 

Day 8
Ngorongoro Highlands


With Gibbs Farm as your base, spend the day enjoying a myriad of activities and cultural pursuits in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

  • Guided nature walk around the estate, gardens and forest
  • Picnic lunch in the valley
  • Optional visit to local historian and story teller
  • Afternoon tea on the verandah
  • Overnight: Gibbs Farm Cottage
 
 

Day 9
Tarangire National Park


Today you will travel northeast through the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's fourth largest.

  • Afternoon wildlife viewing in Tarangire National Park
  • Overnight: Tarangire Treetops Lodge
 
 

Day 10
Tarangire National Park


Spend another day in Tarangire National Park, viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park.

  • Full day of wildlife viewing in Tarangire
  • Overnight: Tarangire Treetops Lodge
 
 

Day 11
Tarangire / Arusha / Depart


Depart Tarangire late this morning and spend the rest of the day in Arusha, with a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.

  • Farewell lunch in Arusha
  • Shopping
  • Dayroom in Arusha
  • Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home
 
 

Day 12
Arrive U.S.


Connect in Amsterdam and arrive in the U.S. Please check your flight itinerary for arrival dates and flight details.
