Day 1-2
Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge. We can arrange your international flights, please call for competitive pricing and availability.

  • Overnight: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge
 
 

Day 3
Enashiva Nature Refuge


Depart after breakfast on a charter flight to Wasso. Continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading to Enashiva Nature Refuge, an exclusive area for Thomson guests, in the Serengeti ecosystem.

  • Orientation walk
  • Overnight: Thomson Nyumba

A $100 per person conservation fee goes toward preserving this pristine land.

 
 

Day 4
Enashiva Nature Refuge


This remote and pristine region is a private wilderness area for Thomson Safaris' guests. Its unique geography, and it’s location outside the park make it an perfect destination for discerning guests who wish to enjoy a true wilderness and exploration experience.

  • Morning or afternoon exploration on foot
  • Maasai boma visit

Day 5
Serengeti National Park


Drive to the Serengeti, home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.”

  • Afternoon wildlife viewing
  • Overnight: Thomson Serengeti Nyumba
 
 

Day 6
Serengeti National Park


Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has even more to offer you today. With your skilled guides at the helm, the game viewing promises to be interesting!

Day 7
Ngorongoro Highlands


Make your way to Gibbs Farm in the Ngorongoro Highlands where you are sure to enjoy the incredible change of scenery from savannah to the lush highlands.

Day 8
Ngorongoro Highlands / Lake Manyara National Park


Your afternoon will be spent in Lake Manyara National Park, a unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife including lions, baboons and countless varieties of birds.

  • Optional morning activities:
    • Dawn chorus of local birdlife (includes tea and coffee on your private veranda)
    • Bird Viewing Walk: 7 am
    • Spa services (additional fees)
    • Guided Karatu village walk
  • Afternoon wildlife viewing in Lake Manyara National Park
  • Sundowners at a hippo pool
  • Overnight: Gibbs Farm
 
 

Day 9
Ngorongoro Highlands / Ngorongoro Crater


Spend the day on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to forest to savannah and being home to about 30,000 animals, despite its tiny size of only 10 miles across.

  • Overnight: Gibbs Farm
 
 

Day 10
Ruaha National Park


Take a flight to southern Tanzania this morning, arrive in time for lunch. On your afternoon game drive in Ruaha you will view wildlife along the Mwagusi Sand River and the Great Ruaha River. During your drive, you will be struck by the beauty and the vast expanse of unpopulated wilderness stretching out towards the distant blue hills of the Southern Highlands.

  • Morning flight to Ruaha National Park
  • Afternoon wildlife viewing by vehicle or on foot
  • Overnight: Mwagusi Safari Camp
 
 

Day 11
Ruaha National Park


Enjoy another day of wildlife viewing in Ruaha National Park, one of the "best kept secrets" of Tanzania. Few travel to this park, but the intrepid safari-goers who make the journey are rewarded with excellent wildlife viewing in a truly remote and untouched wilderness.

  • Full day of wildlife viewing
  • Overnight: Mwagusi Safari Camp
 
 

Day 12
Ruaha National Park


More than 80 species of animal can be found within 45 minutes drive from your camp. Along with your guides, you can track wildlife quietly on foot or in four-wheel drive vehicles.

Day 13
Ruaha National Park / Dar es Salaam / Depart


Depart Ruaha late this morning and spend the rest of the day in Dar es Salaam, with a farewell dinner, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.

  • Fight from Ruaha to Dar es Salaam
  • Farewell dinner
  • Shopping
  • Dayroom in Dar es Salaam
  • Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home
 
 

Day 14
Arrive U.S.


Connect in Amsterdam and arrive in the U.S. Please check your flight itinerary for arrival dates and flight details.
