Day 1-2
Depart North America/ Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge. We can arrange your international flights, please call for competitive pricing and availability.

Day 3
Private Nature Refuge


Depart after breakfast on a scenic flight. Continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading to a private nature refuge exclusively for Thomson guests in the Serengeti ecosystem. Please note: A $100 per person conservation fee is applicable on all itineraries visiting the private nature refuge.

Day 4
Private Nature Refuge


This remote and pristine region is a private wilderness refuge - its unique geography, and its location outside the park make it an perfect destination for discerning guests who wish to enjoy a true wilderness and exploration experience.

Day 5
Serengeti National Park


After breakfast, meet our friends, the talented and creative women of the Enyuata women's collaborative. Learn about their efforts to improve healthcare, education and entrepreneurship in their community. Then drive to the Serengeti, home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals. The Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.”

Day 6
Serengeti National Park


Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has even more to offer you today. With your skilled guides at the helm, the wildlife viewing promises to be interesting on this last day of your adventure in the Serengeti.

  • Full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park (if you have advance reservations, make an early departure for your hot-air balloon excursion)

Day 7
Ngorongoro Highlands


After breakfast, continue your journey by heading east, toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Many Maasai call the Ngorongoro Conservation Area home - keep an eye out for the red cloth of the herdsmen dotting the landscape as you make your way through this area. Arrive at Gibb's Farm in the afternoon, where you are sure to enjoy the serenity of this lush and extraordinary oasis.

Day 8
Ngorongoro Highlands


Spend the morning in Lake Manyara National Park, a unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife including lions, baboons and countless varieties of birds.

Day 9
Ngorongoro Highlands


The Ngorongoro Crater is a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones, including lakes, forest, and savannah. It is also home to about 30,000 animals despite its tiny size of only ten miles.

Day 10
Ruaha National Park


Take a flight to southern Tanzania this morning and arrive in time for lunch. On your afternoon in Ruaha, you will view wildlife along the Mwagusi Sand River and the Great Ruaha River. During your drive, you will be struck by the beauty and the vast expanse of unpopulated wilderness stretching out towards the distant blue hills of the Southern Highlands.

Day 11
Ruaha National Park


Enjoy another day of wildlife viewing in Ruaha National Park, one of the best kept secrets of Tanzania. Few travel to this park, but the intrepid safari-goers who make the journey are rewarded with excellent wildlife viewing in a truly remote and untouched wilderness.

Day 12
Ruaha National Park


More than 80 species of animal can be found within 45 minutes drive from your camp. Explore the area and track wildlife in your four-wheel drive vehicles today.

Day 13
Dar es Salaam / Depart


Depart this morning, spending the rest of the day in Dar es Salaam with some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.

Arrive North America
