Day 1-2
Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha |
Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport,
arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris
staff and transferred to your lodge.

Arusha National Park |
|
Explore Arusha National Park, a small but incredibly diverse
park with forest, lakes, savannah, several craters and an
extinct volcano over 15,000 feet tall: Mount Meru.

Day 4
Tarangire National Park |
Today you will depart Arusha, traveling southwest through
the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's fourth
largest.

Tarangire National Park |
Spend another day in Tarangire National Park, viewing some
of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying
the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that
are so typical of the park.

- Swimming at Tarangire Safari Lodge

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater |
Arrive to the dramatic collapsed volcano, Ngorongoro Crater,
where you will witness the highest concentration of wildlife
on the planet.
- Visit a Maasai boma

Day 7
Ngorongoro Crater |
Take advantage of your optimally located Nyumba and spend
the day on the crater floor, searching out lion, hippo, the
rare black rhino, hyena, wildebeest, zebra, African buffalo
and much more.

Day 8
Olduvai Gorge / Serengeti National Park |
After breakfast, continue your journey into the unspoiled
wilderness of Tanzania by heading west, toward the Serengeti
Plains.
- Brief stop at Olduvai Gorge

- Afternoon wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park
- Brief nature walk around your campsite
- Overnight: Thomson Serengeti Nyumba

Serengeti National Park |
Enjoy the vastness of the Serengeti, "the land that flows
on forever," along with some of the best game-viewing
that Africa has to offer.
- Full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park

- Picnic lunch in the park
- Afternoon of traditional Tanzanian games, soccer, or
sketching/painting at your Nyumba

Depart the Serengeti late this morning and spend the rest of the day in Arusha, with a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.
