Day 1-2
Depart North America / Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge. We can arrange your international flights, please call for competitive pricing and availability.

Day 3
Tarangire National Park


Tarangire National Park is Tanzania's fourth largest park offering diverse wildlife and scenery including dramatic baobab trees. In the evening, enjoy the campfire at your Nyumba with millions of stars overhead.

Day 4
Tarangire National Park


Enjoy a full day exploring Tarangire National Park, one of the best places to view elephant herds. Keep your eyes peeled near Tarangire's riverbanks looking for lion, leopard, giraffe, gerenuk, reedbuck, and even the rare fringe-eared oryx.

Day 5
Ngorongoro Highlands


After breakfast, continue your journey by heading west, toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the scenery of rolling hills and vibrant colors as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Highlands over the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive at Gibb's Farm in time for lunch, where you are sure to enjoy the serenity of this lush and extraordinary oasis.

  • Visit with Daniel Tewa, a local historian and storyteller
  • Optional afternoon activities include mountain biking, spa services, bird watching, coffee roasting, tea on the verandah, a visit to the artist in residence, and more! (additional fee applies for bike rental and spa services)

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater


The Ngorogoro crater is a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to forest to savannah. It is home to about 30,000 animals, despite its tiny size of only 10 miles across.

  • Relax at Tembo Fire, Gibb's Farm open-air sitting area nestled in oraganic gardens

Day 7
Serengeti National Park


After breakfast at Gibb's Farm, continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading west, toward the Serengeti Plains.

  • Afternoon wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park

Day 8
Serengeti National Park


This morning, enjoy the vastness of the Serengeti, "the land that flows on forever," along with some of the best wildlife viewing that Africa has to offer. Take an optional walk to Robanda village this afternoon to visit with the Ikoma tribe. The Ikoma are known for their hunting prowess, drumming and dance, and storytelling.

Serengeti National Park


Travel to your second location in the Serengeti enjoying plenty of diverse wildlife viewing along the way. Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, and home to hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, this promises to be another exciting day.

Day 10
Serengeti National Park


Enjoy another full day in the famed Serengeti at an exclusive location that few have the privilege of visiting.

Day 11
Private Nature Refuge


Make your way to a private nature refuge, a remote and pristine region located east of Serengeti National Park. Its unique geography, and its location outside the park make it a perfect destination for discerning guests who wish to enjoy a true wilderness and exploration experience.

Day 12
Private Nature Refuge


The private nature refuge gives travelers the opportunity to explore the wilderness as well as the culture of the Maasai. Travelers will have an unforgettable experience today when they visit a local women's group to witness how the women have started to plan for the future of their families. Later, the culutral exchange continues as your new Maasai friends gather around the campfire at your Nyumba to share stores.

Day 13
Depart


Depart on a scenic flight late this morning arriving in Arusha in time for a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.

  • Flight from the Serengeti to Arusha (33lbs baggage maximum)
  • Farewell lunch in Arusha
  • Dayroom in Arusha
  • Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home
 
 

Day 14
Arrive North America
