Day 3
Arusha National Park
Begin your morning with a visit to a local village, located on the slopes of Mount Meru. Meet the people of Tanzania, and snap some stunning shots of the second highest mountain in Tanzania. Later today, your expert guide will lead an informative discussion about your trek on Mount Meru tomorrow.

Day 4
Mount Meru Trek
After breakfast, take a short drive to Arusha National Park, known for its impressive range of altitude, topography, and vegetation. Begin your trek up Mount Meru, passing fig trees, waterfalls, and wildlife along the way. You’ll reach an altitude of 8,250 feet before sunset, and settle in to camp.

Day 5
Mount Meru Trek
Wake up bright and early to a 3-5 hour descent from Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate. Keep your eyes peeled for tropical birds perched in the trees and Colobus monkeys swinging from the canopy. Later this afternoon, enjoy free time to relax at your lodge, soak in the pool, or play soccer with friends.

Days 6-8
Ngorongoro Highlands / Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you’ll cross the Maasai Steppe on your way to the Ngorongoro Highlands—your base for the next three days. Have lunch at Gibb’s Farm, and spend a relaxing evening sipping tea on the veranda.
On your second day, take a short drive to the floor of Ngorongoro Crater. Spend a full afternoon observing buffalo, lions, rhino, hyena, flamingos, and more. See who can spot the greatest variety of animals. In the evening, take a starlit stroll through the gardens.
On your final day in the Ngorongoro Highlands, you’ll meet the people of Tanzania. Share stories and learn about local customs before returning to Gibb’s Farm for lunch. Conclude your day with a guided mountain bike ride.

Days 9-10
Serengeti National Park
After a farm-fresh breakfast, head west to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is Maasai for “endless plains,” and you’ll see why during two days among the park’s myriad of wildlife and unspoiled landscapes. Your expert guide will teach you some of his secrets to spotting animals.
Join an optional hot air balloon ride to take in sweeping views of the Serengeti from above. (Minimum height and age: four feet and seven years. Advanced reservations and additional fees apply).

Days 11-12
Eastern Serengeti Nature Refuge
Spend the next two days traversing the pristine landscapes of a private nature refuge. Lose yourself in the vast wilderness. Spot wildlife. Learn about local flora. Embrace the opportunity to visit a Maasai home and a Maasai women’s collaborative. During your last evening here, gather around the campfire and listen to traditional folklore from a Maasai storyteller.

Days 13-14
Eastern Serengeti to Arusha / Return to North America
This morning, you’ll fly to Arusha, arriving in time for a hearty farewell lunch. Enjoy some last-minute shopping, and relax in a day room before your flight home.
