Thomson's Signature Safari
We are still pinching ourselves. Our trip was everything we hoped for and more! Right from the time we were met at the airport, everything was seamless.
Kumbi is a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, giving of his time and energy and oh so patient with all of us. The crew at the Eastern Serengeti camp was absolutely wonderful. They made sure we were comfortable and we spent valuable time with them in the evenings around the fire. The walking tour was an unforgettable experience! It was incredible to fall asleep to the sound of hundreds of wildebeests cooing in the dark.
The Maasai village, the women’s group and the school outings were interesting, informative and stunningly beautiful. The principal was so grateful for the few things we brought along for the students and the students LOVED the camera and seeing their own pictures!
At the Ngorongoro Crater, Hussein and crew greeted us so warmly that we couldn’t help but feel welcome. He offered to take us on a walking tour; with stories, information and even more breathtaking views! When an impromptu soccer game started, it was so much fun to have the crew join in.
We were very fortunate that we saw the big five! And so lucky to have seen two black rhinos! The Crater offers so many different vistas….like large open grasslands and jungle-like areas with baboons and hyenas.
We were so unexpectedly pleased with our tents….I’m so not a camper, and was a little apprehensive about the trip but the Thomson Nyumba tents were great!
But that isn’t even the end of our adventure; we went on to Zanzibar and had an exceptional time!
We can’t say enough good things about the Thomson Safaris!! We feel absolutely blessed that we were able to make the trek and saw so many beautiful people, places and creatures. From Rick and Judi, Emily to Amy and all the folks we met on the ground in Tanzania and Zanzibar, your team is top-notch!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
