Comfortable Weather

At 5,000 feet above sea level, northern Tanzania (where Thomson runs the majority of its safaris), has generally spring-like weather year round with low humidity.  Even in the warmest season, temperatures rarely go above the 80's, and the dry heat is comfortable.

Wildlife viewing is excellent all year long with the exception of the rainy season from April to mid-May when the animals disperse due to the ready availability of water. We don't offer safaris during this time except on a custom basis.

a yellow-billed stork "We were overwhelmed. Our expectations, paled against the actualities of the trip, were met and greatly surpassed. We identified and recorded over ninety bird species and all of the mammals one expects to see in the plains and forests of the parks we visited."
